A loan of $475 helps to buy farming inputs which she will use to improve her production and make more income for her family.

Anah's story

Agriculture is key to the economic growth of Kenya by reducing poverty and creating employment. Anah is a 61-year-old mother of one child living with her family in Bungoma, a town whose surroundings have vast agricultural potential with numerous small farms and also vast agricultural enterprises.

She is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs which she will use to improve her production and make more income for her family. Juhudi Kilimo’s partnership with Kiva is an effective tool for reducing poverty in Kenya and especially among women, being the central actors in the rural areas. Anah hopes to get help and contribution, and she is grateful for it. She is looking forward to the financial support and hopes to get the trust of the funders.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
