Roneta Beltran Group's story

Roneta B. is from the village of Senor, Sinacaban, Misamis Occidental. She is 50 years old and the group leader of a three-member group loan offered by PMPC. While each member of the group receives an individual loan, they are all collectively responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members if someone is delinquent or defaults. The official name of this borrowing group is Roneta B. Group.

Roneta is married and has three adult-aged children. To make a living, she makes and sells snacks and other delicacies in the local community. She has been engaged in her business for over fifteen years and earns approximately $33 a month from these activities.

In 2005, Roneta joined PMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. She has successfully repaid a previous loan of 7,000 PHP from PMPC. This previous loan was used to purchase raw ingredients needed to make the products she sells.

She is requesting a new loan of 6,000 PHP which will be used to purchase additional inventory and as working capital. This will be her 9th loan from PMPC. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to supplement her family's income.
