Santos lives with his wife and one son who is 25 years old. His wife is financially dependent on him. He says he has relatives who live abroad. Santos has been in the business of tending a farm of free-range chickens for about ten years. Sometimes his wife helps him with his poultry activities. They work from 6:00 am until 5:00 pm.
The advantage his business has is Santos' ample experience. The biggest difficulty he has faced was during the quarantine caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, given that he had to quit working for the most part during the months from April to August of 2020. He could not go out and sell his product.
He is applying for a loan for the purchase of chickens in order to increase his production. He will also invest in construction materials to improve infrastructure on his farm. The investment will help him to reactivate his business, for he is now under-capitalized. He hopes that his sales and income improve.
His aspiration is to improve farm production and have more income in order make it through, together with his family.
