A loan of $550 helped purchase sodas, beer, and ingredients for preparing her dishes.

Rosa Clementina's story

Sra. Rosa T. is a member of the Communal Bank “El Arenal” (The Sandpit). She lives in the city of Cuenca which is known for its beautiful architecture, the four rivers that surround it, the warmth and friendliness of its people, and its cuisine.

For the past year and a half, Rosa has been managing a diner and a store that are on her property. She works from Sunday to Sunday from 7am to 1am.

Sra. Rosa is 58 years old, married, and has four children (ages 30, 28, 25, and 20). The two older children are married and live independently, while the two younger ones are university students. Her husband works as a carpenter. She does not have a home of her own, so she and her family live in a rental property.

Rosa is participating in her third loan cycle with Fundación ESPOIR. She was invited by her niece to become a member. This new loan will be invested in the purchase of more products for her business such as sodas, beer, and ingredients for preparing her dishes.

Her dream is to have her own home.
