A loan of $375 helps to buy certified seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizer to improve her crop production.

Poline's story

Poline is a hardworking woman who has mastered the art of fighting failure. She is 44 years old and lives in Chuka, a town where the main economic activities include agricultural processing, particularly crops. Poline has been a mixed farmer for the past few years to comfortably support her family.

She is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs that she plans to use to improve her horticulture crop production and make more income to support her family.

The major impediment to the development of smallholder farms in Kenya is a lack of short-term credit facilities. Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is working hard to support smallholder farmers in Kenya through financing, therefore guaranteeing their survival.

Be inspired to support Poline, especially during this time when the world is focused on fighting COVID-19.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
