A loan of $3,400 helped a member buy fabric, thread, and materials for making clothes.

Las Flores Al Progreso Group's story

Juana is the president of the Las Flores al Progreso (The Flowers for Progress) group. She joined the group five months ago. The group is located in the Los Olivos district in the Lima department. She is a single mother.

For 28 years she has had a business making and repairing women’s clothes. She started her business to support her family when she arrived in Lima. She is from the Amazonas department. She is 59 years old, and she has three grown children.

The member would like to invest the loan in the purchase of sewing materials like fabric, thread, and other needed materials. Thanks to the growth of her business, she paid for her three children’s education. Two of her children are now teachers, and one has a hardware business.

Also, she hopes to be able to improve her house thanks to her income. For example, she will pay for a roof. In the long term she yearns to build her house.
