A loan of $725 helped th purchase coffee plants and organic fertilizer.

Rosa's story

Rosa, age 32, is a hard-working woman who lives with her partner, Giovanni, age 37, and their four children, in their own home which she built to offer their children a better quality of life. For 15 years she has grown coffee and plantains, with her husband. It is a gratifying job, and she depends on it to maintain their family. Thus, she wants to take care of these crops and increase her production. She also runs a store, located in their home, where she takes advantage of the flow of people who work in a mine close to her home. She sells products such as: candy, soft drinks and C. leaves which are highly requested by the mine workers. For this reason she wants to stock basic products and convert her store into a mini market. This is her second loan with MFP, and she is sure that she will complete each payment on time, as she did on the first loan. Furthermore, she likes working with her community group. With the requested loan, she will invest in the purchase of coffee plants and some bags of organic fertilizer, which she will plant on her empty land.
