Mr. Houy Um Village Bank Group
Mr. Houy U. is a fisherman who is able to earn some money to support his family. His wife, Mrs. Lou Ork, is a housewife who makes some delicious food for her family.
Now Mr. Houy U. has a problem because his fishing supplies are too little to use. So, to improve his fishing, he is applying for a loan to buy more fishing supplies to use. He will use the rest of his loan to buy soil and zinc to build a place to conduct motorbike repairs to start a new business.
Mr. Houy U. is the father of six children, two of whom are seamstresses in a garment factory while the others are attending the local public school.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
