Mr. Nath Say Village Bank Group's story

Eighteen people in the village of Mkak in Kandal province have formed a loan group and selected Mr. Nath S., who was born in 1977, as the leader. All the members will use their portion of the loan to improve their businesses in the current year.

Mr. Nath S. farms a small piece of land he owns to grow crops to sell to support his family; he is also a barber. His wife, Mrs. Sok Khen Sorn, is a seamstress in a garment factory and helps support their family with her small salary. Now Mr. Nath S. has a problem because his field has infertile soil. So to improve production, Mr. Nath S. is seeking a loan to buy fertilizer. He is a father of two children, one of whom is enrolled in a local public school, while the other is too small to work or study.
