A loan of $2,350 helps to buy construction items to repair a home, and to buy farming tools/equipment, seeds for a farming business.

Vuya's story

Agricultural impacts from natural events and disasters most commonly include: contamination of water bodies, loss of harvest or livestock, increased susceptibility to disease, and destruction of irrigation systems and other agricultural infrastructure. These impacts can have long-lasting effects on agricultural production including crops, forest growth, and arable lands, which require time to mature.

The aftermath of Tropical Cyclone Yasa saw Vuya’s commercial farm sustaining damages to her crops and livestock. Her house was also damaged, and they have sheltered her family at the nearest evacuation center since December 2020.

She seeks a loan to buy the construction materials to repair her house and to purchase livestock, the essential farming tools and equipment along with seedlings in order to get her farm business fully operational once again.

A farm is more than land and crops. It is a family’s heritage and future.

This loan is special because:

It helps proven female entrepreneurs grow their businesses and create jobs.
