A loan of $375 helped purchase compost.

Miguela's story

Miguela is 39 years old and a cheerful hardworking mother. She lives in her own home with her husband Edgar, age 38, and their ten year old daughter Leonela for whom she wants to provide a better quality of life. Miguela has worked hard to maintain her fields that produce the necessary foods to support her family. Before the first rays of sunlight can be seen, she leaves her house and walks for nearly an hour prior to arriving at her farmland where she grows beans, potatoes, corn, ulluco, and peas. These crops are later sold at the wholesale market in the city of Tarma. She greatly enjoys her work, especially the cultivation phase. Miguela has been farming for seven years and considers the most difficult part of her job to be transporting her products to market since the sacks are extremely heavy and exhausting to carry. Her greatest wish is to buy more land so that she can increase production.

This is her fourth loan with MFP. In her Communal Bank, Miguela is highly respected because she seeks to restore order in all of the meetings. The loan of 1000 PEN that she requested will be used to buy more compost to make her land more productive.
