A loan helped a member buy materials to make mats, baskets and bags for sale.

Katweyombeke Kyakabooga Group's story

Grace is a very innovative woman who lives in Hoima Uganda, married with 3 children. She makes crafts, producing baskets, mats and bags. She also does farming on a small scale.

Grace belongs to the group of only women called Katweyombeke Kyakabooga group where she acts as a chairperson. She mobilised women and taught them craft making with the aim of teaching them to do hand work along side farming so that they are able to get the other source of income instead of only depending on farming. As we talk now, every woman can make mats, baskets and bags to sell and get money. However these group members didn't have enough money to buy materials. Grace encouraged them to co-guarantee each other to get money from the financial institution.

Grace and the group members have therefore requested for a loan to help them buy materials to use in craft making.

In this group: Ireen, Christine, Erina, Faustine, Grace, Jane, Jastine, Josephine, Joyce, Kevinah, Mary, Onin, Regina, Resty, Rose, Sarafina, Sarah, Susan Brendah, Teopista
