Lum's story

Born in 1956, Lum J. is married to A. John Awah and they have brought forth five children. A woman who does not like to depend on the husband for all the family needs, and finding it so difficult to accomplish this task, Lum J. joined GHAPE in 1998.

She also has been having marital problems which causes her to be sad all the time but she is appreciative of the fact that she is alive. Her desire is to give her children love and education. She states that she feels better each time she provides something small to her children.

Her inability to get investment capital which could consistently generate income for her to meet her children’s needs is what motivated her to obtain a loan from GHAPE.

With her loan she plans to buy a two-wheel motorcycle. She knows this business will succeed because she is located at a good business site and she is a good rider for the motorcycle.

She plans to use the profits generated to sponsor her children in school and to cater for the basic needs of her family.
She plans to pay her loan in 24 months. The first installment repayment shall be done on the fourth month of loan disbursement.
