A loan helped a member to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer to improve her harvest of maize.

Juliana's Group's story

Juliana is 52 years old and has 4 children. She has been a farmer for 20 years and is always said to be a very hardworking individual. Even though Juliana is the only one featured in the above picture, she is actually representing her group formed by 13 farmers in Matete district, Kenya.

Juliana started working alongside One Acre Fund a few years ago, in 2014, and decided to do so because she wanted to get the best-quality fertilizer and hybrid seeds. Since then, she has seen her life improve, especially in the sense that she has been able to consistently feed her family. This year, she decided to represent her group because she wanted to be more active in her community.

Juliana’s Group will receive farm inputs to plant a total of 9 acres of land.

In this group: Juliana , Elizasbeth, Gilbert, Keva, Mary, Modester , Wilfridah, Benedict, Grace, Margret, Nelson, Erick, William
