A loan helped to buy pandanus for her weaving business.

'Ana's story

Greetings from 'Ana. She is a 24-year-old mother of two. She is married to a farmer, and they live with her little family at her parent's house.

'Ana and her mother run a tapa-making business, and they also practice weaving. This loan will be used for 'Ana's weaving business.

Her mother is her main helper, and taught 'Ana the skills of weaving and tapa-making so that her daughter could provide for her family on her own. 'Ana and her mother join a women's tapa group once a week for making tapas. As for their weaving, they weave on their own at home, together making mats and taovala, then selling them out at the local market.

'Ana is applying for a loan to buy white and brown pandanus for her weaving. She dreams of owning their own home where her children can grow up and call their home.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
