A loan helped to pay for plowing fees and labor costs and to purchase fertilizer for her crops.

Sinuon's story

Sinuon, age 22, is married and lives with her family in the area of Anlong Veaeng district, Oddar Meanchey province. She has been a farmer and has worked in the agriculture business for years. Sinuon, and her husband, are considering the challenges of low yield due to pest and disease attack on cultivated crops, poor level of mechanized agricultural activities, and product processing and storage.

Due of the phenomenon of Covid-19, her income from selling agriculture produce is decreased. Her customers in her community have reduced demand, affecting prices. Sinuon has lost income-earning opportunities. However, the way she does farming is still based on the traditional method.

This rainy season, Sinuon has a lot of farm work to complete. She needs additional capital to pay for her operating expenses. To help her in the business, she would like to borrow, from Kiva lenders, to pay for plowing fees and labor costs and to purchase fertilizer her crops. With this loan support, she will have agriculture products this harvesting season and can sell to the local market.

Sinuon sends thanks to all lenders for supporting her family.
