Nasivali is 52 years old, married, has 5 children and is raising his grandson, pictured in this photo. He has a high school education. Since 2000, the main income for his family has been from raising livestock and crops. Thanks to his hard work, he has on his farm today 3 cows and 15 sheep, as well as a 1.2 hectare plot of land on which he grows tomatoes and peppers.
To further develop his farm, Nasivali has turned to Bai-Tushum Bank for a loan in the amount of 50,000 som (KGS) to buy seeds and fertilizer to grow organic produce. The income from the loan will help build a house for his family.

Organic agriculture is a part of regenerative agriculture. Regenerative ag can help reverse climate change by rebuilding soil organic matter and restoring degraded soil biodiversity – resulting in both carbon drawdown and improving the water infiltration and thus reducing erosion.
