A loan helped a member to expand her business.

01 Perla Group's story

The communal bank “01 Perla” is associated with the Juan Pablo II agency. It includes eight members who are friends, and is run by a board of directors with Carla as president.

The loan they will take will benefit small micro-enterprises of the members. Carla has a business selling pants. She says that she learned by helping her mother, and has had the business for four years. The loan will increase capital to buy pants in bulk from the wholesale vendors in the city of La Paz. Later, she will sell them in her sales space. This method of working permits her to generate income. She is 18 years of age, single and has no children. Her aspirations are to make her business grow, to study, and to have a store with her family.
