A loan helped to purchase fuel, nets, cord, and other fishing materials.

Ines Monserrate's story

Ines Monserrate is 53 years old, married, and her spouse is a fisherman. They live in Jaramijó, a place of lovely beaches and a varied cuisine. It is a place visited by many tourists all year round, but not so much now due to the pandemic caused by COVID-19.

She is a hardworking woman who seeks the way to help her spouse get ahead and cover the household expenses. Although now everything is difficult because of the pandemic, they continue struggling on.

They have a boat in which her spouse and two other people from the place go out on the high seas to do the fishing tasks. They go out almost every day to do the work and when they come to the beach, she helps to clean the fish to then sell to the merchants who come to the place to buy.

This loan is to purchase fuel, nets, cord, and other fishing materials.
