A loan helped to buy building materials, stocks of groceries and kerosene/ benzene fuel.

Asinate's story

Pictured in front of her closed canteen, Asinate hopes she will secure a loan to reopen her doors and continue to serve her fellow villagers someday soon. The aftermath of Tropical Cyclone Yasa caused many roads to close, which made it quite difficult for people to receive aid and for relief efforts to reach them. Power and water cuts also made it impossible to keep meats or use their food preparation and cooking appliances.

It was during this time that Asinate willingly gave out her products on credit. As a woman entrepreneur, her outlook has changed considerably since the twin effects of COVID-19 and Tropical Cyclone Yasa affected the national economy. She seeks a loan to buy building materials, stocks of groceries, fuels and cyclone emergency kits.

Asinate plans to implement a business continuity plan and a risk management plan and set aside earnings to act as a charity arm to her business. Investing in Asinate’s business will ensure that others are being helped as Mizzfit once said, “No matter where you are in life, inspire and empower the women around you. Success is never reached alone, and wisdom and wealth are sweeter shared”.

This loan is special because:

It provides emergency funding to clients affected by tropical cyclone Yasa.
