A loan helped to buy food supplies.

Rosa María's story

Rosa is a resident of a town in western Nicaragua. With a lot of effort and hard-work, she has earned a living baking for approximately a decade with help from her husband. In her business you can find different varieties of simple, sweet, and stuffed bread. This activity is her main economic livelihood for enjoying a better quality of life alongside her family.

Previously, she benefited from a loan from Kiva and MiCrédito which was used to purchase raw materials, and thanks to the profits she earned she was able to repair the roof on her home.

Today she is again turning to MiCrédito, together with the help that Kiva offers, in order to purchase supplies like flour, sugar, lard, cheese, and baking powder. Her vision for the future is to be able to distribute her products in the different areas of the department, and to be able to rely on providers who offer affordable prices.
