Pheap's Group's story

Mrs. Pheap O. is 33 years old and has been selected as the village bank president by this ten member group, located in Kanlaeng Khla village in Takeo province. With the loans, the group members are able to increase their incomes to improve the living standards of their families.

Mrs. Pheap O. and her husband, Mr. Khloeng Khann, are farmers who own 1-hectare of land to cultivate rice. They also sell groceries in the local village and are able to earn a small income to support their family. The couple have five children; four are attending the local school while the youngest is three years old.

Mrs. Pheap O. decided to ask for a loan to buy fertilizer and pesticide to cultivate rice. The remainder of the loan will be used to purchase more groceries to resell.
