A loan helped to accrue the capital necessary to expand her vegetable trade.

Chhon's story

Mrs. S., 40, sells a variety of vegetables in Psa Takhmao Market, earning approximately $5 profit a day. The vegetables that she sells are either bought in bulk from suppliers or grown on her own farmland next to her house. S. and her husband Moeun Pov, 41, who shares responsibility for his family by working as a local farmer, help each other to earn money so they can meet the needs of their three young children, all of whom attend school. Due to insufficient capital, S.'s income is relatively low, so she is requesting a Kiva loan to accrue the capital necessary to expand her vegetable trade.
