Perseverance Group's story

These are people with small-scale businesses in Waterloo small town, where “Shine on Sierra Leone” partnered with SMT to start a branch. They have come to SMT/Kiva to seek a loan of SLL 3,000,000 to enable them expand their businesses. With the help of this loan, they will be able to add more stock to their businesses, make more sales, and make more profit. Consequently, they will be able to improve their standard of living.

Augustine K. is the leader of this group. He was born in Moyamba, in southern Sierra Leone. He is age thirty-five, is married, and has three children. His wife is a businesswoman and his children are attending schools: two in secondary school and one in primary school.

For seventeen years now, Augustine has sold CDs and tapes. With the help of this loan, he will buy more CDs and tapes of popular local and international artists to add to his business.
