A loan helped to purchase stock in larger quantities to expand her business.

Abiba's story

Abiba is a 39-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her three children in the Bole district of Ghana. She operates a business selling stationary. With her previous loan, she purchased more stationary and used her profit to reinvest in her business. Abiba is requesting another loan to purchase stock in larger quantities to expand her business.

She plans to use the profit she earns to further her education. Abiba will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering two and half hours per week as a CAMFED Peer Educator, leading life skills sessions for students in local schools on topics such as rights and choices, choosing a career path and active citizenship.

This loan is special because:

It helps borrowers withstand negative economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
