Juana Francisca
Juana is a hard-working woman, who established her own shop – chairs and tables rental – many years ago. She is 52 years old and she and her husband keep on providing for their children.
Little by little she has succeeded in improving her house more and more. With her previous loan she was able to build the kitchen and partition walls, and she is happy about it. This current loan will be used to buy doors for her bedroom because she wants to sleep in safer conditions, and she lacks the required amount to buy them.
For the future she plans to attract even more customers for her shop, in order to reach better living conditions and to provide for the education of her children.

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
