A loan of $3,300 helped a member buy supplies.

Nueva Semilla Group's story

Maria, age 40, is the president of the Nueva Semilla (New Seed) Communal Bank. She belongs to the Santiago II Community Center.

Maria has two small businesses. One of them is embroidering sweaters, and the other is selling food. She sells the food in a kiosk, which is located in her home. She needs the loan to reactivate this business. She has the help and cooperation of her four children. She plans to buy supplies with the loan.

Maria indicates that she likes Pro Mujer for the trainings they give, the savings at the end of the cycle, and the visits she can make to the consultant’s office. She agreeably attends.

The rest of the members of this Asociación have different businesses including production, service, and commerce. They all need the loan to strengthen and improve their businesses.
