A loan of $250 helped buy supplies for farming business.

Luis Armando's story

Sr. Luis Armando R. A., 47, lives with his wife and family in the Medardo A. neighborhood. The couple has 3 children, all grown. The oldest is studying at the university and the others live independently. Sr. Luis has worked at farming since he was 11 years old.

Sr. Luis lives in a modest house that needs improvements to make it better for him and his family. He started his own farm after saving the money to buy land that has allowed him to generate enough income to live. He's now applying for a loan to buy farming supplies that will help to improve his fields. The improvements are necessary because of a recent infestation (or plant disease?) that destroyed part of his pineapple crop and, of course, affected his income. Sr. Luis is a responsible manager and he has funded his wife's small business with earnings from the farm. This investment will help to increase the family's earnings and improve their economic condition.
