Benkadi 4 Group
In this Group: Yawourou , Fanta, Korotimi , Fatoumata, Bintou , Sanata, Sitan , Kounadi
The Benkadi 4 group comes from the Married Women's Association of the village of Dah Manakina in the prefecture of San, Ségou region (fourth administrative region of the Republic of Mali). The members live in traditional families. They have an average age of 34 and on average at least 5 children each, and they grow peanuts.

Wishing to make their agricultural enterprises more profitable, the members of the group decided to join the loan institution Soro Yiriwaso three years ago. After having reimbursed their preceding loans, they are on their third agricultural loan for this growing season.

Fanta Dembélé intends to use her share of the loan to buy a sufficient quantity of peanut seeds and various small implements and agricultural entrants, purchasing exclusively at the big open-air market of San city. During the off-season, she warehouses her harvest for a certain time so that it grows in value before selling it at the Dan and San markets and in surrounding marketplaces, retail (or often wholesale) for cash to a clientele generally coming from the big cities.

After that part of her production that is destined to be sold is gone, Fanta Dembélé, like the other members of the group, expects to make a profit of 35,000 F CFA which will be used to reimburse the interest on the loan and for on-going family expenses.
