A loan helped to buy a small pick-up truck to distribute fish and seafood from her community.

Luisa's story

Meet Luisa.

Luisa has been in the fishing industry since she was a child. She has participated from actual fishing to retail distribution.

Luisa and her husband run a family business that fishes and sells seafood, shrimp, different types of fish, and lobster from the Pacific Ocean. Currently, she sells her production in the local community to people that come to buy in bulk at a low price. Her two young sons also help them in this family venture.

Today, Luisa is applying for a loan to buy a small pick-up truck to distribute her seafood and also buy fish from her neighbours to sell in nearby urban areas. With this investment, she will be able to increase her revenue and save up for her children's education.

Luisa is an active member of the local community-owned bank and has taken smaller loans which she has always paid back on time, demonstrating her high level of responsibility.

Thank you for supporting women-owned businesses and contributing to the economic development of rural communities of Panama.
