A loan helped a member to buy food for her fritanga (traditional small restaurant serving homestyle food in Nicaragua).

Las Mariposas No1 Group's story

This is the communal bank Las Mariposas 1. It is made up of nine members, who all have different and independent businesses.

Maria Del Socorro (in the photo she is the one in the red blouse and jeans skirt) has three children, one of whom finished university.

Thanks to the loans she improved her life conditions. This new loan will be used to buy food for her fritanga, where she sells a traditional food from Nicaragua with the same name. In the future, she dreams of setting up a place for a store selling basic goods and food.

Her biggest challenge is the raise in prices of the products she needs to make the food. In spite of it, Maria manages to keep a good price so as to make sure her customers are satisfied.

Other members like Yanitza Yamilet (she is in the middle of the photo carrying her month-old baby ) need your financial support to build a better future for their children.
In this case she is going to take advantage of the loan to invest in the purchase of second-hand clothes.
