A loan helped to build a greenhouse so this member of the vulnerable Egyptian community can plant vegetable seeds and sell the seedlings.

Ermira's story

Ermira is a 47-year-old Egyptian lady from northwestern Albania, a little coastal town overpopulated during the summertime. She is married and has three children. Her husband, together with their two oldest sons, fishes to provide for their family. Ermira, besides her job as a co-cook in a fish restaurant, does some agricultural activity.

In her interview, Ermira said optimistically, "Even though this is a coastal area, people here perform different agricultural activities to provide for their families. I want to built a greenhouse so I will be able to plant vegetable seeds and sell the seedlings to the locals so I will make extra income for my family!"

Ermira thanks all Kiva lenders for the support they have given over her five loans so far and hopes to find your understanding this time as well.

This loan is special because:

It helps heavily marginalized Roma and Egyptian women create better lives for their families.
