Harriet's story

Harriet is a young lady aged 22, living in Masindi, Uganda. She is married and her husband is a student, meaning Harriet, through her retail shop business, is charged with looking after the family in every way possible. She lives in a rented house with her husband and child. She would like to have a good home with educated kids just like any other lady at her stage with good life expectations.

Harriet has operated her shop for one year now; she says she started so small but for now she says it has improved in terms of size, and she hopes to see it grow into a big retail shop. This is Harriet’s first loan from HOFOKAM and she intends to purchase sugar, soap, and maize flour for resale in her shop.
