A loan helped to pay for a scheduled surgery for her husband so he will recover his health and will be able to lead a normal life again.

Zamira's story

Zamira is a 49-year-old woman from a small city in south Albania. She is married and a proud mother of two adult children, aged 25 and 27, and her daughter-in-law. Thanks to a previous Kiva loan, Zamira could make some repairs at her family shelter, which is now warmer and more comfortable for all of them.

Zamira works in a clothes factory for a salary of $200/month. Her oldest son works as a receptionist in a nearby hotel and gets paid $230/month, while her husband used to work as a smith, until two months ago when he got very ill. Doctors have suggested a surgery for him, in order to recover and to be able to lead a normal life. Zamira hopes for Kiva lenders' understanding one more time, to be able to pay for the expenses of the surgery.

Zamira thanks you all for your support and wishes a prosperous new season to all Kiva lenders.
