A loan of $300 helped materials to replace roof.

Josefa Antonia's story

Ms. Josefa Antonia G. R., age 56, lives with her husband and teenage son in the Laureles Norte neighborhood. She and her husband both contribute to the household expenses and chores. Josefa's makes her livelihood by running a small store selling beans, stews, beverages, and tamales.

Josefa has had her business for 3 years, and in some months of the year has seen a decline in sales. With the help of her husband, she has been able to obtain the necessary resources to start buying the ingredients necessary to make her products. In the future they hope to open a small store in order to increase sales. However, for now Josefa is requesting a loan to purchase zinc sheets to replace the roof of her home. The new roof will protect her family during the months of the rainy season, which affects Nicaraguan families with its heavy downpours.
