A loan helped to expand her business.

Rafia's story

Rafia is a 21-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her aunt in the West Gonja district of Ghana and runs a grocery business. She is requesting a Kiva loan to expand her business. She plans to use the profit she earns to support her sibling and expand her business.

Rafia will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering two and half hours per week as a Camfed Learner guide, following up on students who are at risk of dropping out of school, find out why they are missing school and connect them with the help they need to stay in school.

This loan is special because:

It helps borrowers withstand negative economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
