A loan helped to buy more soap, Vita, tissue and other items to sell.

Flolyn's story

Flolyn is 41 years old, married and the mother of three children. All three are attending school, and she herself went through high school. For the past twenty years she has run a provisions shop where she sells a variety of items. Her mother taught her how to sell. She says at times sales are slow.

Flolyn applied for a loan through Kiva's field partner BRAC Liberia to buy soap, Vita, tissue and other items to sell to her steady clients. Her profits will help her support her children.

Flolyn is proud of her business because it provides her family with daily meals. She dreams of opening a store in the future. She is highly grateful for the financial support BRAC and Kiva have rendered.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
