A loan helped a member to purchase piglets and pigs to raise and resell to support his family.

Gneta Group's story

Etienne is holding pigs in the photo. He is 40 years old, Malian, married, and the father of four children, all of whom are in school. His wife is a housekeeper.

Etienne has always been a major pig farmer. He orders his pigs for purchase and his customers come to his home to purchase them. The animal-raising business is profitable for him. After sales he can expect a profit between 25,000 to 80,000 F over eight months. The profits allow him to cover needs for healthcare and his children's schooling.

However, he often faces illnesses and insufficient food for his pigs, especially during the dry season. This is why he lets his pigs go astray to have enough food, but only during the dry season.

His dream is to have training on pig farming, to set up a space with fencing, and to purchase many piglets to further expand his pig farming and improve his living conditions, and take care of his children's future.
