Alex is a young man living in Bundibugyo, Uganda. At 29 years of age, he is married to a peasant wife and together they have four children aged 8, 6, 5, and 2 years. He is the breadwinner for his family of six people. They live in a semi-permanent house Alex constructed with the income from his hard work. He dreams of one day constructing a permanent house.
Alex operates a retail shop and has been in business for two years, now having begun selling Coca Cola only. He also has future plans of seeing his shop become a wholesale business for bigger opportunities. Alex intends to use the loan funds to purchase sugar, jelly, soap and other domestic items to sell in his shop.
