El Jardin Group's story

The communal bank called "Jardin" is located in the town of Marcelino Rodriguez in the municipality of Axochiapan in the state of Morelos, Mexico. This group is maD. up of 6 members who know each other because they are neighbors and area merchants. Bibiana H. is the representative of the group. She is 40 years old, and finished her secondary education. She has 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls, they are: Isaias, 16, Eliel, 18, Judith, 20, and Gabriela, 24. For 10 years she has been selling food such as rice tacos, sopes, hamburgers, hot dogs, etc. Bibiana decided to start her business in her home so that she could meet the needs of her family, as her husband's earnings did not cover all the expenses and her children were in school.

Now she requests a loan to buy meat, cooking oil, soft drinks, napkins and seasonings. Bibiana tells us that "currently, I attend to more than 50 customers and my greatest satisfaction is that my customers tell me that my food is delicious." With this business she has earnings that she can use for her personal expenses, and she can also use part of the earnings to invest in more supplies to continue the business.

Bibiana tells us that, "In my community of Marcelino Rodriguez, the climate is very hot and there is a very pretty plantation and a river that passes through the middle of the town. You should visit this safe place, I know that you will enjoy it. All of us are very grateful for the support that you have provided us, and that now is being provided through Kiva."

The members of the group are Bibiana H. H., who sells food, Reina M. D. J., who buys ears of corn from farms and sells them in bulk, Marcela M. P., who will buy cooking oil, sugar, salt, soups, soft drinks, toilet paper, etc. to restock her store, Maria Felix F., who sells through catalogs, Ana Luisa D. A., who sells through a catalog, and Gregorio H. G., who will restock his butcher's shop.

In this group: Bibiana, Reina, Marcela, Maria Felix, Ana Luisa, Gregorio
