A loan of $1,075 helped to buy eggs, cooking oil, sugar, flour, rice, soft-drinks.

Katiuska Rocio's story

Katiuska, 34, is a single mother of two children whose ages are 6 years and one year and 7 months; her oldest child is in second grade. She sells groceries (sugar, rice, eggs, soft-drinks, flour, salt, matches, etc.). She started out in 2004 selling in Jr. Grau near the central market but rent increases for her location necessitated a move to a different locale.

In 2007 she moved to a location in Magdalena and stayed there until 2008. At the end of that year she looked for another place because they wouldn’t renew her rental contract. This is how she found a new place near the Nery García market where she’s been located since 2009. She tells us that she has many regular customers because she provides good customer service.

Her dreams and goals are that her children become professionals.

Katiuska mentions that it’s been thanks to Finca Perú’s training program that she is able to better care for her children and has improved her savings habit.

She will use the loan to buy eggs, cooking oil, sugar, flour, rice and soft-drinks.
