A loan of $600 helped to buy construction material (sand, cement, stone, iron, etc.).

Sabata Jacinto's story

Sabata Jacinto M. was born in the Boane District, Maputo Province, in southern Mozambique. She is single and is the mother of 4 children who are 15, 17, 21, and 24 years old. All of them go to school. She only studied through the 6th grade and did not continue due to a lack of financial resources. She lives in her own house with her children and does not support anybody else.

She has never left Boane. Sabata has had her own business for more than 10 years. She does not have any employees and earns about 3,500 MZN per month, which she uses to pay for expenses. She is even able to save some in her bank account.

Sabata has had loans with other banks, but she later decided not to continue on with them. She found out about Hluvuku through her neighbor, who has already received a loan through this institution. This is her 4th loan, which has a value of 20,000 MZN. She plans to use it to buy construction material (sand, cement, stone, iron, etc.) to expand and improve her home. The previous loans were for 2,700 MZN, 6,000 MZN, and 15,000 MZN, which she put toward her business and her house.

She promises to pay back the loan on time so that she can receive others. In the future, she plans to request more loans in order to finish and furnish her house, so that her family can have a more comfortable place to live.
