Arzykan's story

This wonderful woman on the photo is Arzykan. She is 53 years old, married and all her children are grown up now. She has secondary education and is empathetic and friendly by nature.

As a main source of income for her family, Arzykan has been involved in animal husbandry and crop farming since 2000. Thanks to her hard work and her spouse's help with the farm, currently there are 2 cows and 25 sheep on her farm, as well as 4.75 hectares of irrigated land where she grows organic beans.

Arzykan has a contract with the local dairy processing plant to supply organic milk. This allows her to continuously invest in her farming business. Having learnt that in Bai Tushum Bank she can get a loan under the 'Value-added chain' scheme using her contract for future milk supply as a collateral, Arzykan applied for a loan of 200,000 som (KGS) to buy dairy cows in order to increase her volume of milk sales. The payments for milk will be directly transferred to Arzykan's bank account and the loan repayments will be automatically deducted. The profits from the loan will help Arzykan grow her farm further.
