A loan of $725 helped to buy fertilizer and pesticides to maintain corn crops.

Julio Cesar's story

Julio is a 35 year old father. He lives with his wife and children in the district of Nueva Arica, an agricultural area located an hour and a half from the city of Chiclayo. His principal occupations are agriculture and livestock farming.

Like the majority of people in the area, he works in agriculture and has spent over ten years working in this occupation. He works on land inherited from his father. He plants all types of grains, particularly corn. Working on the farm provides him with income to support his family. He also earns extra income working as a farm laborer.

Julio wants to have a good production of crops and works arduously to achieve his goal. Currently, he wants to buy fertilizer and pesticides to help him maintain his crops. He is requesting a loan of 2000 nuevos soles from Edpyme Alternativa. This is his first loan. Julio is well-known in the area. His neighbors consider him to be a hard-working and responsible person. His greatest desire is to have success with his harvest and with future harvests so that his family can get ahead.
