Fatima's story

Fatima O. was born in 1954 in Adjohoun, in the department of Oueme. Fatima is a widow and mother to five children, all in school and still under her care. Fatima lives together with her children and is the sole provider for their expenses. For about twenty years Fatima has lived in the quarter of Gankpodo in Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin. Fatima did not go to school. To maintain the various expenses and support the needs of her children, Fatima sells diverse products (sugar, batteries, soap, candles, insecticide, vegetable oil, etc...) from her home. Fatima stocks up in Dantokpa, the international market of Benin. Fatima is a past client of Alidé, having already received five loans which have all been repaid. Fatima wants to further develop and expand her business in order to better respond to the numerous requests of her clientele which is why she is seeking another credit from Alidé
