A loan helped to buy more agricultural inputs such as chemicals, seeds and fertilizers to sell to smallholder farmers in his community.

Lenine's story

Lenine is a 33-year-old Mozambican man. He lives in Dondo, Sofala Province, with his wife and their three children.

Lenine lives in Dondo, a district with great potential for agriculture. There are many smallholder farmers in Dondo who have to travel a long distance to Beira in order to buy seeds and other type of inputs for their farms.

Initially, Lenine went through the same challenge as many other farmers in his community. But then he changed his vision, decided to be part of the solution and started buying a huge amount of seeds in Beira to sell in Dondo.

The smallholder farmers in his community trust him to deliver high-quality inputs. This is the reason why Lenine's business has been growing from time to time.

In order to maintain his clients and to keep on delivering good inputs, Lenine is requesting his first Kiva loan to buy more agricultural inputs such as chemicals, seeds and fertilizers to sell to smallholder farmers in his community.
