Benson N. is a mixed farmer from Kisii town in western Kenya. He is 41 years old and married with 5 children between the ages of 10 and 22. All the children are currently attending school.

Benson has been farming for 20 years, producing beans, maize, millet and milk which he sells to the local market. He also earns income from his tailoring shop in Kisii town. His major challenge in farming has been insufficient water for his dairy cows, lack of timely veterinary services and natural calamities like long dry seasons which makes it difficult to get animal feeds.

He recently completed his previous loan from Juhudi Kilimo for 30,000KES and has requested this loan of 50,000KES to purchase and insure a dairy cow. Through this loan, he will be able to provide enough milk for the family and use the extra income to educate his children.

He hopes to acquire atleast 3 quality dairy cows in the next 5 years.

He regrets for not taking advantage of the projects with Juhudi Kilimo earlier.
