A loan of $750 helped purchase of consumer products and varied used clothing.

Rosa Rafael's story

Rosa Rafael C. lives in the city of Matola, in the Maputo province, in the south of Mozambique. She runs her own business buying and selling consumer products. The past loan made it possible for her to buy merchandise in the quantity she wanted. She was able to repay the loan on time and her business has done well, but has taken a small loss due to the drop in value of the Rand (the currency used in South Africa, which is where she purchases the majority of her products). With the revenue she earns from her business, she has been able to improve the financial situation of her family.

The previous loan was for 25,000MT, and she used this amount to purchase food products and diverse clothing, which augmented her quantity of stock. The loan was satisfactory, and improved her life, and her daughter was able to get married. In the future, she hopes to access more loans to further improve her business, separating the clothing store from her food products.
