A loan helped to buy more drinks to sell.

Siatta's story

Greetings from Liberia. This is 40-year-old Siatta, a married mother with 5 children. They attend school and live at home. Siatta attended school until 10th grade.

Siatta has a business selling drinks. Her mother taught her how to sell, and her husband gave her the money to start the business. For the past 8 years, Siatta has been operating the sales. She uses a car to transport supplies to her business site. Siatta likes her business because sales are fast each day she sells.

Siatta applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva field partner, to buy more drinks to sell to generate greater profits. In the future, Siatta wants to continue her children's educations. She wishes to say thanks to BRAC and Kiva.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
