A loan of $375 helped purchase goods for her grocery store.

Melchora's story

This member is part of the communal bank, Virgen Purificada-Angostura. She lives in the district of Angostura, a province of Saylla, in the department of Cusco. Her name is Melchora and she is 71 years old. She is a widow and has one son. She has a small grocery store and spends her time running it. She also takes care of small animals, such as chickens and guinea pigs. She is well-known in the district of Angostura and the people are very fond and appreciative of her. She knows that because of her age it is not easy to obtain a loan and as such, she is very happy to continue to be a member of this communal bank. She is asking for a loan to invest towards the purchase of products in bulk for her shop, such as rice, sugar, noodles, milk. She deeply values and is very grateful for the credit that she has been offered from which has allowed her business to grow and her quality of living to improve. As such, she promises to make timely payments on her loan.
